Bill Roper Country American Legion Post 364

Dear Legion Family,

It is an honor to serve as your Commander. Every time I walk through the doors of our post, I am reminded that this building exists because of generations of veterans who believed in service long after they hung up the uniform. Our responsibility is to preserve that legacy while preparing our post for the future.

Since our new leadership team took office, we have focused on restoring stability, improving communication, and taking care of the business of the post. We have worked to organize our records, strengthen our financial accountability, and address maintenance issues that have been delayed for far too long. These may not always be the most visible accomplishments, but they are essential to building a stronger foundation for the years ahead.

You will continue to see improvements to our facility. Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and functional home for our members remains one of our highest priorities. Every repair we complete protects an investment that belongs to all of us and helps ensure that Post 364 remains a place where veterans, their families, and our community feel welcome.

Our fundraisers, Burger Nights, dinners, karaoke, and special events are more than opportunities to gather. They help fund our programs, maintain our building, and allow us to continue serving veterans throughout the Coastal Bend. Thank you to every volunteer who cooks, cleans, serves meals, works the register, bartends, hall rental, or simply lends a hand. Your time and dedication make everything we do possible.

Membership remains the lifeblood of the American Legion. If you have not renewed your membership, please do so as soon as possible. If you know an eligible veteran who is not yet a member, invite them to visit our post. The future of Post 364 depends on welcoming the next generation of veterans into our family.

Transparency and accountability are commitments, not slogans. Your officers are working hard to keep our operations organized and to ensure that decisions are made with the best interests of the post in mind. We encourage every member to attend meetings, ask questions, offer ideas, and become involved. The strongest American Legion posts are built by members who participate.

As we move forward together, let us remember why we joined the American Legion. We are here to support veterans, mentor young people, promote patriotism, strengthen our communities, and honor those who served before us. Those principles continue to guide every decision we make.
